The Beaulieu Bakehouse

High Street, Beaulieu, SO42 7YA

The village tea room on Beaulieu High Street, serving breakfast, brunch and lunch until mid-afternoon with an emphasis on local produce. Formerly the Old Bakehouse Tea Rooms, it now trades as The Beaulieu Bakehouse.

The breakfast menu marks the full Bakehouse Breakfast and avocado on toast as available gluten free, and coeliac diners report a decent choice among the sandwiches, breakfast baps and brunch dishes. Gluten free bread goes in its own toaster, never the one used for ordinary bread. The kitchen lead is gluten free herself and has a hand in the gluten free dishes, including new ones added to the menu.

The toaster is accounted for, which covers the most common risk in a breakfast cafe. This is still a bakery-style kitchen handling ordinary bread and cakes all day, and nothing has been said about how the cakes and bakes are kept apart, so say you are coeliac when you order.

Are any of the cakes and bakes gluten free today, and are they stored away from the wheat ones?
