Pub

The Angel & Blue Pig

High Street, SO41 9AP

A Marston's coaching inn on Lymington High Street with rooms, serving food all day from breakfast onwards. It keeps a dedicated gluten free page on its own website, offering a curated menu of starters, mains and puddings including fish dishes, curries and homemade kebabs, and its online menu has an allergen filter that can exclude 'may contain' dishes.

The pub markets a carefully curated gluten free menu described as NGCI, from starters through to puddings. Diners on gluten free directories report separate kitchen areas, a chef who is coeliac and front-of-house staff who pass a gluten free request to the kitchen, though these reports are undated and we could not verify them with the venue.

The pub is straightforwardly honest on its own menus page: food is prepared in a shared kitchen and, while they take care, they cannot guarantee dishes are allergen free. Treat the menu as gluten free by ingredients rather than guaranteed for coeliacs, and talk to the team about how your dish will be handled.

How does the kitchen keep gluten free dishes apart during prep and cooking in your shared kitchen? Are gluten free battered or fried items cooked in a separate fryer?
