Lymington & coast

Hotel

Stanwell House (The Orangery)

14-15 High Street, SO41 9AA

A boutique hotel on Lymington High Street whose light-filled Orangery serves afternoon tea daily from 2pm to 5pm, alongside the Samphire restaurant and Salt bar. A likely stop for a special-occasion tea in the town.

We found no gluten free information from the hotel at all. The current afternoon tea menu, published in April 2026, carries no allergen or dietary wording, and neither the Orangery page nor the wider site mentions gluten free provision. One diner review praises staff for accommodating requests, but says nothing about gluten.

Everything here is unverified for coeliacs. If you want afternoon tea, ring or email ahead and ask directly whether a gluten free version is offered and how the kitchen would keep it apart from the standard bakes.

Can you prepare a gluten free afternoon tea, including scones and cakes, with notice? How would gluten free items be kept separate from ordinary baked goods in your kitchen?
