Cafe

Bridges

26 High Street, Fordingbridge, SP6 1AX

Fordingbridge's busiest cafe, in a Grade II listed building on the High Street, with gluten-free bread across the breakfast and lunch menu, a dedicated gluten-free fryer and gluten-free bakes made on site first thing each morning.

The cafe keeps a dedicated gluten-free fryer, so chips, fries and hash browns are on the table as well as the bread. Gluten-free bread runs right across the 2026 menu with breakfasts, sandwiches and soup, and it is toasted under a grill rather than going through the shared toaster. The cream tea can be taken with a gluten-free scone, and the cakes and scones are baked on the premises — the gluten-free batch is made at the start of the day, before any other baking has begun.

The kitchen is small and there is no corner of it set aside permanently for gluten-free work, so the prep space is cleaned down before each gluten-free order rather than kept apart all day. Separate boards, knives and tongs are used. Say what you need when you order and the kitchen will set up for it. Researched with care — never a guarantee.

Is the gluten-free scone from that morning's separate gluten-free bake? Can the prep space be cleaned down for a gluten-free order at a busy lunchtime?
